When 8-year-old Priya first walked into our learning center, she could barely hold a pencil. She came from one of the poorest slums of Hyderabad. Today, 12 years later, Priya is a registered nurse serving in a community health clinic.
A Humble Beginning
Priya's parents heard about Acts Foundation's free learning center from a neighbor. After weeks of hesitation, her mother brought her in.
